Getting certified to fly a personal flying car means passing two tests: a written knowledge exam and a practical check ride with an examiner. Under the FAA's MOSAIC rule, most two-seat models fall under sport pilot privileges, so the tests are the sport pilot tests, adapted for powered-lift aircraft.
